Mauri Whalen

VP, SSG and Director, OTC Core System Software, Intel

Mauri Whalen is vice president in the Software and Services Group and director of core system software in the Open Source Technology Center at Intel Corporation. She leads Intel's efforts in open source software development across a range of technologies and market segments, including enterprise Linux and related technologies, engineering leadership in the Linux ecosystem, and client Linux programs and related technologies. Her team focuses primarily on Linux-based operating system stacks, software for enabling Intel CPUs and chipsets, virtualization, data center cloud software, and Linux communications.

Whalen has spent more than a decade in the Open Source Technology Center, holding various program management and technology management positions. Intel has twice honored her with the Intel Achievement Award, most recently in 2014 for her contributions to the Intel® Hardware Accelerated Execution Manager.

Before joining Intel in 1996, Whalen worked as a software engineer at Central Point Software and as a business analyst with Legacy Health Systems.

She holds a bachelor's degree in computer information systems from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
