From hacking BASIC on the Commodore64 as a kid to writing controllers in pre-1.0 Kubernetes, I've loved computers for a very long time. These days I work on Red Hat's hosted OpenShift product, where shared control planes have a massive blast radius in customer data. To mitigate risk, we've implemented many advanced deployment and ci/cd techniques, from canary instances to progressive rollout through sectors to feature flags to automated tests and promotions at every level. I have previously given talks at KubeCon for the PV/PVC APIs, DConf on automated performance testing, and internal audiences at Red Hat on progressive delivery.
